Consistency Analysis of RTK and Non-RTK UAV DSMs in Vegetated Areas

Lately, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) evolve into one of the most popular remote sensing technologies by providing rapid and periodical acquisition high-resolution, accurate, low-cost data. Progressively, technology UAVs rises with addition advanced equipment such as multispectral (MS) digital cameras global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers real-time time kinematic (RTK) positioning ability. While, MS aid to achieve higher land use cover (LULC) classification accuracy, RTK GNSS provide without need for ground control points (GCPs), reducing fieldwork prior UAV flights. In this study, consistency surface models (DSM) produced using non-RTK UAVs' simultaneously acquired data was evaluated model-based visual statistical comparison analysis in a densely vegetated study area. The done six different vegetation classes utilizing DSM which is GCP-supported has spatial resolution, reference model. To determine effect terrain inclination, whole area uninclined areas (arctan-10.1∼6º) were analyzed separately. outcomes show that absolute vertical DSMs depending on restricted potential on-board insufficient particularly high orientation required.
